Let's say you want to buy a book for your child. If you buy a Barnes & Noble giftcard from the PTO you can purchase books online at Barnes & Noble through either the Boxtops Reading Room http://www.boxtops4education.com/earn/readingroom/Default.aspx or through Goodshop http://www.goodsearch.com/goodshop.aspx. Our school will receive 6% on your new book purchase through the Box Tops program and 3% through the Goodshop program. The books are mailed to your house ( saves gas and time), and can be returned to a local Barnes & Noble if needed(check invoice for details).

So, your child gets to read more, you have saved gas and time, and you have helped your school twice by buying the giftcard and then using it to make your purchase.
