Helping Your Child Succeed in School

Parenting is the most difficult of all the jobs we will ever have--and the job is getting harder and more complex every year.
It is safe to say that no matter how good we are as parents, and how good our children are, we will have trouble with them at some point, on some level. However, there is much we can do together at home and at school to ensure that your child has the maximum opportunity to be successful in school.
I'm very much aware that we are always asking that you support us in what we are doing at school. Just know that I believe that teachers also have a responsibility to do what we can to support what you are trying to do at home. That's why I am providing you with the publication Helping Your Child Succeed in School. It will come to you once each month and will contain helpful tips and strategies you can use at home to ensure that your child will be as successful as possible in their educational journey. Many of the ideas offered will simply confirm what you're already doing--and some will be new to you. But I think we would all agree that we can always get better at what we do at home and school. And we can use all the help we can get. I know this to be true since for years Mr. Segram has subscribed to The Master Teacher for us teachers. It is published by the same publisher.
I will try to do everything I can here at school to help your child be successful. If you have any concerns that you would like to talk about, please contact me anytime. The preferred method of contact would be email: bbiornst@egreen.wednet.edu or phone 360-604-6650; mobile: 503-880-4025 or you can write a note in your child's planner. I hope you find this publication to be useful.
