Social Studies - Civics Education

American Legacy Publishing publishes a supplement we have chosen for our Social Studies Curriculum. They are running a couple of special current events issues these last two weeks of October focused on the upcoming historic presidential election. In addition on Nov. 3rd our students will be given the chance to vote along with 57,000 other schools.

Also they have teamed up with Woogi World to allow students to safely participate in an online civics learning environment. Parent permission is required for participation in Woogi World. Some of the opportunities for your child are:
  • safely interact in games and activities with other students all over the US and the world
  • participate in "ask the candidate" forums
  • watch videos of the candidates
  • get a virtual job working for a candidate
  • pretend to be a journalist
